1. WHY CHOOSE UL 508A? Your advantage on the US market
The export of control cabinets into the United States requires compliance with strict safety and quality standards, which differ significantly from the European market. This is why UL certification is increasing in importance. The UL certification is a recognized quality seal and a decisive proof of the safety and quality of industrial control panels, especially for the US market. It verifies that products meet the strict requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and are recognized by relevant authorities such as “OSHA”.
For companies, UL 508A certification is an essential element in facilitating market access: control cabinets holding this certification are prioritized during customs clearance and regulatory approval is expedited. In addition, the UL label establishes trust amongst customers and partners, as it stands for the highest safety and quality standards. Without certification, companies risk delays, additional costs and fewer market opportunities.
With our UL 508A certification, we ensure that our control panels are not only safe but also fully compliant with US regulations and ready for immediate use. Our UL 508A-certified control panels are your shortcut to success.

Material inspection
Inspectors verify that all components - such as switches, relays, and PCBs - have been tested and certified according to UL standards. Each material must be suitable for its intended purpose and proven to meet the required safety and performance criteria.
Assembly inspection
All installed components within the control panel are carefully verified for proper installation and wiring, including compliance with overcurrent protection, clearance and spacing requirements, and insulation standards.
Performance test
The control panel is tested in realistic operating conditions with regard to control response times, protective devices and the simulation of malfunctions.
Documenting the results
Every step of the inspection process is fully documented - not only for quality assurance, but also to support future maintenance and inspections. This clear and traceable documentation serves as proof of standard conformity and demonstrates a strong commitment to product safety.
Final testing & certification: Your green light for the U.S. market
"Our recommendation:
Save time, costs, and stress by choosing a certified UL 508A panel from an experienced manufacturer – ready for seamless deployment to the U.S. market."
Where does the certification take place?
There are various ways to obtain an UL certification for a control panel:
1. On-site certification at the manufacturer’s facility.
The control panel is inspected on-site immediately after completion. UL certification is carried out by inspectors from a “NRTL” (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory), i.e. an officially recognized testing institute in the USA such as UL or TÜV Süd. Either an individual approval is possible or the company only builds one certified panel type and obtains the type certification.
2. Certification at the installation site in the U.S.
Alternatively, inspection can take place after installation at the customer’s location in the U.S. However, this method is typically more time-consuming and costly than working with a
UL-certified panel builder from the get-go.
Certification process
Final testing & approval
The final stage includes a series of critical safety tests, such as temperature measurements, dielectric (insulation) testing, and mechanical integrity checks. Once the control panel successfully passes all evaluations, it is officially labeled with the UL 508A certification mark, confirming full compliance and readiness for immediate use across North America.
